Strong Roots Bursary Fund

Support Strong Roots for all Families

In 2018, we created the Strong Roots Bursary Fund in order to welcome all children into the forest. Currently the Strong Roots Bursary Fund is very modest, and not all applicants are guaranteed to receive funding.

Financial support from our community will allow us to make it so no family is turned away due to lack of funds, ever.

Thank you / Másin Cho / Shä̀w níthän / GunałchÎsh
to the folks who have contributed to help make this Bursary Fund possible!

With the aim of keeping all of our programs accessible for all families, Rivers to Ridges has created the Strong Roots Bursary Fund available for families in need. This fund is made possible through the generous offerings of local donors and sponsors. In addition, a portion of our organizational revenues are donated back into this fund.

If you feel your child would benefit from taking part in our programs, and that attendance would put a financial hardship on your family, please consider applying to the Bursary Fund. Bursaries are limited and reserved for those most in need, and decisions are made by the Rivers to Ridges team.

What do I need to know?

  • Bursary applications are only assessed for registered participants. Please register for your chosen program, pay the deposit, and enrol in a payment plan prior to applying for a bursary.
  • We try our very best to work with each family to make the program accessible; in the case that we are not able to meet your financial need, we will provide a full refund.
  • Please apply at least two (2) weeks before a program start date. Our team may not have enough time to process applications received afterwards.
  • All portions of the applications must be complete.
  • The staff team reserves the right to request further information from the applicants as necessary.
  • Each application will be assessed on an individual basis.
  • If more than one family has applied for the Bursary Fund, decisions will be based on stronger evidence of financial need. If there is evidence of equal need, funds will be divided appropriately.
  • The Bursary Fund may award up to 70% of a child’s program costs.
