Get ready for wilderness awareness games, extended survival challenges, naturalist studies, wildcraft projects and exploratory play. This course is suitable for both new and returning kids. Weekly themes and project are listed below!
April 8th & 29th, May 6th & 13th, June 3rd & 10th, 2017 Note: the highlighted dates are new (to avoid the long-weekends)!
1 pm - 4 pm, Ages 7-10 Location: Grey Mountain Primary (A few spots left!)
April 8th & 29th: Paw Prints: Discover the many stories that lie behind each animal's track. Become an amateur tracker as we follow the movements of the birds and mammals through the spring woods!
May 6th & 20th: On the Wing: Get to know the birds of the forest through stalking challenges, field sketching and group games. Develop your ability to understand bird language, and help us create a group guide book!
June 3rd & 10th: Fire skills (Wolf Creek): Practice making safe fires in an imagined survival scenario. Learn several different techniques including: fire construction, friction fires (no matches, lighters or flint), and using only natural materials.
